Venturefest Yorkshire 2008 saw ten companies present to an audience of over 100, mainly investors and then questioned about their propositions by a panel of judges.
FoodSpecifications.com has been crowned this year's Investment Competition winner and walked away with the prize package worth almost £30,000 at Venturefest Yorkshire 2008. FoodSpecifications.com identified an unmet need in the food industry and to address this has developed an online system for tracking information about food ingredients from the farm to consumer.
The two runners up in the competition included SAeL Systems whose online training tool helps employers reduce information security breaches and loss of data and Q-Flo Energy Limited which utilizes a process to produce carbon-nanotube fibres that transmits electrical power and reduces transmission losses.
